One Week Countdown: New Coach and New Methods

Written by: coach - Posted in: General, Training, World Championships

We can reveal that Paul has come out of hiding one week away from the World Sport Stacking Championship with exciting news that he has been training with underground methods. He has been at Speed Stacks UK in Essex, training in the warehouse with UK Champion Kate Parker.

It is evident that Kate didn’t go easy on Paul. She pushed him to the limits that he didn’t even know were possible. Not only did she pass on her top tips and tricks for stacking that make her the UK’s fastest, but she even put Paul through rigorous fitness training with ab destroying crunches. A tough programme but it is what Paul needs to get that ‘eye of the tiger.’

Here are some photos of Kate Parker training Paul G for the 2008 World Sport Stacking Championship in the cold conditions of the Speed Stacks UK warehouse.

EXCLUSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT: Paul Dedicates World Championships To Tim After Shock Injury

Written by: coach - Posted in: General, Training, World Championships

We can confirm that Paul G, the remaining member of the UK Stack Pack is bringing his World Championship entry forward to 2008.

With the plan to train hard until the 2009 World Championships in Denver, it is known that Paul is devestated that his stacking partner was forced to retire from stackers wrist. He has now decided that he will be in Denver on the 4-5th April to represent the UK but he will dedicating his performance to his lost buddy who sadly will never be able to fulfil his dream of representing his nation on the world stage.

Paul is really serious about this and since his return for the UK, he has been training underground and nobody knows what methods he has been using.

Tour Closes In Mexicano

Written by: paul - Posted in: World Tour, Mexico

The world tour has almost come to an end. Due to visits overrunning in Fiji, there is also a time constraint in Mexico as there was in the US.

Stopovers were made in Tijuana, Cabo San Lucas and Mexico City.

The Mexicans were a little confused with the cups but they did get involved. Unfortuantely there are no photographs available as there was some trouble nearby between the Mexican Policia (thats Police in Spanish) and the Mexican Mafia, so we packed up before we got too much attention.

The World tour sadly ends on Wednesday when we fly from Mexico City to London Heathrow.

This opportunity would like be taken to thank those who have been supporting this world tour.

San Diego, USA Was A Good Choice

Written by: coach - Posted in: World Tour, United States

The schedule in the US was tight and training didn’t happen unfortunately. On a positive note, Paul is now considering that in honour of his best friend and stacking partner, Tim H, he may go to Denver for the World Sport Stacking Championships.

Here is a photograph of Paul in San Diego with the flag of the United States.

However, as the website shows, Tim has stuck around for the rest of the tour as it nears to the end. The guys managed to get some time to hit the town and paint it red. Here is a video of the guys performing a song at Henry Bar’s Sunday karaoke night in San Diego Downtown.

Fijian Gets Stacking On Vorovoro

Written by: coach - Posted in: World Tour, Fiji

Paul makes his way to the island of Vorovoro Island, Fiji, which is host to the unique community tourism project that is also simultaneously based online. More details at: www.tribewanted.com
After showing Tui Mali, the Fijian Island Chief, and showing much interest, the other members of the Fijian tribe were interested to learn more about the sport as they had
never seen or heard of anything like this.

Sosi stood forward and asked Paul if he could have a go. After taking Sosi through the 3-6-3, he gave it a go and managed to stack it without a fumble. It would have been nice to leave the cups on Vorovoro for the tribe to continue using and practicing, but my cups were needed to complete the World Tour.
It was good to see Sosi stand up and get involved with the cups. Paul made a great bond with the people on Vorovoro, vowing to return before the end of the Tribe Wanted project to see the tribe again and take them a gift of a Speed Stacks pack.

Nice one Sosi!
